There are tons of holidays that people just don't understand. St. Patrick's Day has pretty much become a day for people to wear green and get drunk. Christmas is now a giant commercial holiday that has almost lost the bulk of its religious meanings. We've even mashed all of our presidents' birthdays together to form one mega-holiday known simply as Presidents' Day.

Well, let's add another to the list. In Thailand, they have a giant water-gun fight every year for the Buddhist New Year. This celebration is known as Songkran, and even though I don't know its origins, I still want to participate in the festivities (which look like a loose interpretation of the original holiday).
