VOLVER A GUANTANAMO,BACK TO G, BILINGUE------Soy
coma,me conmueve intimamente.
---------------Back to Guantanamo
After a long and tiring journey of 8 hours from #Uruguay to
Havana arrived tired to the capital. I spent the night there for one night
and the
morning take a bus for tourists to Guantanamo. I am
tired. The heavy rain did not let me see through the window the
dreamed landscape. 18 years ago that I forbade travel to the island,
finally
I have done it.
In Guantanamo they expect familiar. Kisses and tears and
old house that seems more girl when leaving. My mother
lists the dead of the family, the neighborhood and who have
emigrated to Miami or Havana. No one left of the old
known only Fara committee chairwoman of the block and Sergio
cincuenton mechanic who lives adjacent to our house. I can not
anymore
say "my house" is of those who stayed. In the evenings young crowd in
the corridors without
have nothing to do, just watching those who pass and look that marks
shoe used. It is a lost generation who thinks only
emmigrar to Miami and in modern clothes. Do not know anyone.
I wander down the street like a man without a country. I do not belong
to
that place. Exile has caught me in their customs and feel
oblivious to these old circumstances.
Who says that violence has not permeated the indiosincracia
Cuban. One morning I find that they have killed the old Sergio, the
mechanical, a stab in the back. Police are investigating and the
neighborhood
this moved.
Fara, the committee is stuck around, working with the
research. Who better than her to give any indication that
clarify the crime. I'm walking down the streets where I spent my
childhood and adolescence. Everything is Ageno me and not feel the
thrill
I felt in my dreams there in exile when he dreamed of
Guantanamo. It is no longer mine. It is another city and another world.
It was as if all had died, as Sergio, and only stay a game of
young unknown who occupy everything.
Uruguay again with an empty heart. After 18 years no
nothing left of my old neighborhood in Guantanamo, only some old
houses almost ruined by time. Uruguay is my home. Here is where
I belong.-------------

lo he logrado.
Mi madre me
No conozco a nadie.
He aqui donde
pertenezco.----------------------
