It's never fun to be the only one without a Valentine. So this high school student took it upon himself to make sure every girl at his Utah high school felt special for Valentine's Day.

This student bought flowers for all 834 girls at his school for Valentine's Day

High school senior Hayden Godfrey, 17, saved for a year and a half to buy flowers for every single one of the 834 girls at Sky View High School, The Herald Journal reported.

That's $450 for 900 carnations.

"So I did a thing today," Godfrey wrote on Facebook. "Today I passed out 900 carnations, one to every girl at SVHS and it was totally worth it. I don't think anything can compare to seeing every girl in your life holding a flower as they walk through the halls."

Godfrey's mother, Erin Godfrey, told ABC News that he thought of the idea in middle school when he noticed that some of his classmates didn't receive anything on Valentine's Day.

"That broke his heart on Valentine's Day," she told ABC News. "He wanted every girl to feel joy."

Since ninth grade, Godfrey has given out different amounts of flowers to girls each year. But this year, he certainly outdid himself.

Godfrey raised the funds for the flowers by working several jobs, according to The Herald Journal, including as a cook at McDonald's and a dishwasher at a Mexican restaurant.

He ordered the flowers to his home three weeks early and rounded up some friends to help trim the stems.

“I thought as many people as possible should be happy on Valentine’s Day,” he told KTLA.

And it worked. One student wrote on Godfrey's Facebook: "Thank you so much!! It quite literally made my life this week."

Even his girlfriend approved. Lilyan Sharp, 18, told ABC News that she loved the gesture.

"I, myself, spent a lot of Valentine’s Days not receiving anything," she told ABC News. "I know how it feels."
