World-renowned physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking recently made an appearance at the Sydney Opera House. As a freaking 3D hologram.
Professor Hawking addressed many of the problems facing mankind today: depletion of natural resources, the search for a new planet that can sustain human life, oh and how we can exist in a universe where Zayn has left One Direction.
"What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?" an audience member asked during the lecture's Q&A.
You might think a pop culture question like that would catch Hawking off guard, but NOPE. His answer was PERFECT.
"Finally, a question about something important," he quipped.
"My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics. Because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes."
"It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe."
"And in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction." BOOM.
And with that, Hawking commanded "Beam me up Scotty" and his hologram dissolved into stardust, leaving teenage girls everywhere to imagine an alternate reality where they really are Mrs. Zayn Malik.
